Lambson Custom Knives
We recently highlighted Lambson Custom Knives on our Facebook page. In case you missed it, David and Terry are Hayden’s cousins and live out in Arizona. “I spent some time with their family when I was attending college out there and really appreciated all they did for me. A few years back they started making custom knives with a very unique individual flair and gifted me one. It’s a treasured possession for sure.” If you’d like to see examples of their work you can visit our Facebook page or go directly to their site,  lambsoncustcomknives.com .

Time Lapse Pheasents

The latest time lapse Pheasents from Hayden.

As seen in this video Hayden first places the major images of the painting on the canvas with a graphite pencil. In order for those images to still be visible after the first washes are brushed on to the canvas, he goes over the major subjects in the painting with a felt tip pen. This is where the time-laps video begins. If you look closely you will see those images still visible after the initial washes.

Once the canvas is totally covered in washes and there is no more white canvas visible, he then begins to block in the painting working on all areas of the canvas simultaneously to help keep the colors and values in harmony and to get an overall feel for the rough design.

Once the birds, tractor and barn are colored in, there is so much tedious detail in all three that at times it is hard to see much change as you watch the painting progress.

If you look closely you will see that the corn stocks in the foreground and the foliage on the trees in the back ground were some of the last thing to be added.

We hope you enjoyed watching this painting evolve.
